TEAM Maine Athletics is happy to announce that we will be expanding our offerings to young women here in Maine. Since 2023 we have been working on what the next best step would be on creating opportunities for young women in athletics. We at one point leaked a logo early in order to gauge interests. As we have searched for the proper philosophy, character and fit to our own bylaws and beliefs we strongly believe we have found that foundation to launch our next journey and provide the best opportunity possible for our athlete's.
A.C. Maine the name of the corporation is TEAM MAINE ATHLETICS, duly formed and organized to Title 13-B S101 et seq., of the Maine Nonprofit Corporation Act. The provisions of these Bylaws shall govern management of TEAM Maine Athletics unless inconsistent with said statue or Articles of Incorporation.
TEAM Maine Athletics is organized primarily for charitably, eleemosynary, benevolent or conveyed to one or more domestic corporations, societies or organizations engaged in activities substantially similar to those of TEAM Maine Athletics and specifically defined as those meeting the requirements of the Internal Revenue Code section 501(c).
Its mission is to provide a positive environment through youth participation in sports so as to guide participants in building confidence, life and leadership skills, and overall positive team and community interactions.

Director of Soccer Operations/Coaches:
A.C. Maine would like to introduce our newest member and first director of our soccer operations and TEAM Maine family member!
Please join us in welcoming ⚽️ Mikey Lopez.
Mikey Lopez has been involved with soccer for over 28 years starting in youth soccer in South Texas, then playing collegiately at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, and eventually playing professionally in MLS, USL Championship, and currently playing in USL League 1 in the US. As a youth player, he was a 7x state champion and region 3 champions before playing in the Development Academy.
After high school, he was an ACC regular season, ACC Tournament, and National champion with UNC. He also represented multiple US Youth National teams from U15 to the U20s and played in both U20 CONCACAF Qualifiers and the U20 World Cup. As a professional, he spent 3 years with Sporting Kansas City, winning an MLS Cup and Open Cup with them, and spent 2 years with New York City FC. He then spent 1 year with San Antonio FC and 6 years with Birmingham Legion FC, both in USL Championship, and is now captains the ship for our own Portland Hearts of Pine in USL League 1. Mikey Lopez holds a USSF “B” License, with several years of coaching experience at the youth and high school level.
His coaching philosophy centers around player development, working as a team first, fostering individual work ethic, and building familial relationships on and off the field. He believes in fostering love for the game and strives to help players reach their full potential.
