Team Maine Softball
Ages
TEAM Maine Athletics offers Travel Softball under USA Softball guidelines and standards for ages 10u through 16u for the 2023-2024 Season.
Appropriate players at least 8 years old who have completed at least one year of Learn-to-Play, Tee Ball and/or Little League is highly recommended.
TEAM Maine begins winter training at the end of November or the first week of December as we are a program who does not push for sports specialization at the youth levels.
Where
Practices during the winter campaign and/or off-season are held at Ingersoll Arena in Auburn, Maine. These sessions run every Sunday from 1:00 PM to 3:30 PM and include fielding, hitting, pitching, catching and indoor scrimmages/games.
Early spring TEAM Maine transitions to outdoor training which is typically held on Wednesday evenings and Sunday morning at Henry Pennell Municipal Complex in Gray, Maine. This is also our host site for home games and/or contests.
Practices

Spring/Summer:

Teams practice 2 times per week.
Games
TEAM Maine participates in 5-7 Tournaments per year depending on age and competitive evaluations by the Board of Directors and its coaches and Director of Player Development. Tournaments in Maine, New Hampshire, Massachusetts, Rhode Island, Connecticut as well as New York are all possibilities for 2023-2024.
Teams generally will play 25-35 games over the course of the season and will usually fall on the weekends.
Jerseys
Uniforms and Practice shirts are provided by Wight's Sporting goods through our uniform representative, Bryan Harvie. At this time our custom uniforms are provided through 3N2 Sports.
Club logos are copyright protected and cannot be used without the authorization of TEAM Maine's Board of Directors and/or President.
Extra Costs
TEAM Maine Athletics does all we can to not add additional cost to our tuition throughout the year and/or season. However, tuition includes all uniforms, tournaments, training gear, helmet and bags. Tuition does not include hotel fees, travel, meals or extra events the girls participate in while on trips. While TEAM Maine may assist with such events when able there is not guarantee.

TEAM Maine is committed to our efforts not only ly to promote female sports and Athletics, but also doing oir very best to suppprt our local communities and more so but not limited to the game of softball, soccer, candlepin bowling along with you cheering.

Frequently Asked Questions
Q: What is included in the cost to players under TEAM Maine Pricing?
All training, uniforms, training shirts are included in our pricing. While any new player will get a team bag and helmet unless it is a year that these products are due for replacement.
Q: Who are your coaches? Do they coach for set fees?
Our coaching staff and board are made up of former players, business owners and entrepreneurs. All our coaches are held to a high standard and expected to take part in educational opportunities around their specific sport. Many have played at the D1-DII level with great success on the field and professional careers now. The majority of our coaches do not get paid for their services as we try as a company to assist with hotels and travel and supply as much as possible in gear and educational opportunities. When we can, we do pay a small stipend for their assistance.
Q: How far do your teams travel?
Currently, our travel is based on our competitive level. For example, in 2023 we had two stronger teams that played in Maine, New Hampshire, Massachusetts and Rhode Island. In general, our younger teams stay closer to home during the developmental years but will always aim to do one out of state tournament for our 10u.

2023-2024 Season:
TEAM Maine Athletics 10u, 12u and 14u teams will compete locally with a larger end of the year tournament in Tewksbury, Massachusetts. While our 16u team will compete both locally and through New England taking part in two college showcase tournaments. While games will be played on off weekends there is always a chance, we will add a tournament to an age group if available.
